How to Flirt with a Cougar Woman or Cub Man
So you have seen your ideal cougar woman or cub guy at the bar and made your way up to them. You have started to chat and both of you begin to smile. The person makes eye contact, touches their chest, plays with their hair and even laughs at your jokes (even though they’re not that funny!) You feel a wave of confidence, because you know they are flirting with you. How do you know? Because you have learned to read their body language and use this to your advantage.
Flirting is Easy!
Flirting is simply a way of letting the other person know you are interested in them. What’s more it is fun. It is probably the most fun part of dating a cougar woman or cub. As you both flirt, you can feel whether there is chemistry between you.
Flirting Unmasked
Flirting will probably come naturally to you, at least to a certain extent. You may find yourself smiling at the other person, catching their eye, finding reasons to touch them on the arm. All these things are natural parts of flirting . If you flirt at the right time, with someone who is flirting back with you it can be a real turn on and a great indicator that you both want to date or hook up. If however, you don’t read the signs or go overboard with flirting with someone who isn’t really interested you can end up seeming foolish and the cougar woman or cub guy will probably want to get away from you as quickly as possible.
Don’t worry, if you look out for simple flirting body language you are bound to get it right and you can use these behaviours yourself to flirt with him/her.
1. Smiling - Yes, it is simple and you will probably do this straight away when you meet someone new, but if the other person is genuinely smiling a lot that is a good sign that they are comfortable around you.
2. Playing with hair - You may notice the person (mainly cougars in this case) touching or stroking their hair. They may wrap it around their finger or play with it.
3. Touching or licking lips - If the person brushes their fingers against their lips, or wets their lips with their tongue, they are subconsciously trying to draw attention to the area, so that you may think of kissing.
4. Mirroring you - You may find that the person who is flirting with you mirrors what you do. This is subtle and they will not copy everything you do, but they may take a drink at the same time as you, or brush their hair away from their face at the same time as you. You may find yourself doing the same thing. When two people do this they are in sync and begin to feel easy around one another.
5. Dilated pupils – It has been shown that people get dilated pupils when they see something they are interested in.
6. Legs or feet pointed towards you - They may be leaning in towards you and a cougar woman may have her legs crossed. Glance down to see whether the person’s shoes are pointed towards you.
7. Touching chest , or pushing out chest - Women cougars may draw attention to their cleavage by fiddling with a necklace, or stroking her chest. She may also push her chest forward. Men will also push their chest forward to make them seem broader.
8. Sitting with open legs - Just as women may cross their legs and point them towards you, cub men may sit with open legs, bringing attention to their area and showing they are comfortable with you.
9. Arching eyebrows - when someone does this they are showing interest. You may also notice rapid eye movment, or even winking if they are not so subtle.
10. Laughing at your jokes - If the person is laughing and generally seeming to have a good time then they are enjoying your company.
11. Touching you - The cougar or cub you are flirting with may use any excuse to touch you. As they laiugh at your joke they may reach over and touch your arm, or brush a hair out of your eyes.
12. Personal questions - As the person steers conversation to more personal areas, they may even ask if you are single. This may be a good time to exchange phone numbers.
For everyone flirting is different. For some it comes easy and for others they may be rather nervous. Cougar women generally have more experience at flirting than young cubs, so don’t worry if you feel a bit out of your depth at first. Try to be confident and smile. Smiling is a great start and will make you more attractive to the other person. Never use cheesy chat up lines and don’t go overboard on the touching at this stage. Let the other person become comfortable around you. If you have noticed them flirting with other people, they may be a flirty person and not the ideal person to ask out on a date. You will soon be able to work this out when you start talking to them.
If you would rather avoid the face to face flirting that is fun for some, but not for everyone, you may prefer online dating. Cougars and cubs can join a cougar dating site and meet each other there. You can still flirt by chatting online with people in your local area, but it is not as nerve wracking or overwhelming as approaching someone in a bar. You can still enjoy flirting when you decide to meet, but by then you will already know a bit about each other.
