Well any woman that dates a man (or cub) 10 years or more younger than her is a cougar. Most people think of a cougar woman as someone over the age of 35, however I think if a 30 year old woman is dating a 20 year old man, she is a cougar for sure!
Some women will call themselves a cougar even if they are dating a man just 5 years younger. The phrase is about embracing your sexuality and the idea that older women can date younger men without the taboo.
