Can a Cougar Woman and a Cub Man Be Just Friends?
A friend of mine often has rather short-term relationships, but loves nothing more than staying friends with her ex after the relationship has fizzled. I don’t think I would be able to do this. It just seems too complicated. I wonder whether anyone ever pulls off a true friendship with someone of the opposite sex, without any strings, such as sex, lust and desire?
I have heard of people who swear blind that they have great friends of the opposite sex, only to find out later that the other person in the friendship lusts after them, or has fallen in love. Sometimes the person who was fine with being just friends, previously becomes jealous when their friend hooks up with someone else.
If you are a younger guy, who plans to date a cougar woman, you may meet women along the way, whose company you enjoy, but who you do not want to be sexually involved with. If a friendship develops, which you both enjoy that is great, but you should be careful not to complicate things with sex. It is also worth paying extra attention to how your ‘friend’ reacts when you talk about people you are sexually interested in. It is quite possible that you could be hurting your friend without realizing it, if they have hidden feelings for you.
There is no right or wrong answer, as to whether cougar women and cub men can be just good friends and nothing more. It is up to each individual to judge whether a friendship would work for both of you. If you can enjoy a friendship, good for you.
